Skills for Life
At Warren Wood Primary Academy, our Skills for Life and RECIPE are woven into every part of school life. At the beginning of each school year, each class will vote for their RECIPE Ambassador. This is done through a democratic voting process. The RECIPE Ambassadors meet each term and work on projects that the children feel would improve life in and around school. Each class Ambassador is responsible for collecting and sharing information and ideas from their class. This provides a meaningful way in which pupils can voice their opinions and have their views taken into account. Within the team of RECIPE Ambassadors, there will be opportunities for them to develop their own leadership skills and qualities.
Friendship Ambassadors can be seen in action during playtimes and lunchtimes, wearing their Hi-Vis jackets. Our team of Friendship Ambassadors are a group of children who have volunteered to give up their own playtime and lunchtime to support others. Our Friendship ambassadors are good listeners and good communicators so they can help children to resolve playground issues or just be on hand to be a good friend to those in need.
