Welcome to Walderslade Girls’ School and a milestone year in your daughter’s education! Choosing a secondary school is an important and exciting decision that you get to share with your daughter and one that has to be right. We appreciate that with the current COVID restrictions in place, the process of selecting a secondary school with your daughter is going to be a little more challenging this year. We aim to help make the decision to choose us easier, supported and still special over the next few weeks.
The New Intake 2021 area of our website is dedicated to your daughter and you as parents, all of the important information is here. Our new look prospectus, the positive Ofsted report from December 2019 and the Transition material our new Year 7 received prior to starting their WGS journey in September. However, please get out onto the rest of our website, explore the different areas and see what we have to offer academically and pastorally.
We have worked hard over the Summer to ensure we could safely bring back the school community and jump back into classroom learning, but we are not in a position to hold a traditional open evening. We know this is disappointing, we enjoy the opportunity to show case our amazing students and their successes, however we have to keep our community and visitors safe. So, we are going virtual and will be seeing you online on the 8th October 2020. We will also be introducing our staff, students and exciting curriculum through online videos, so please follow us on Face Book and Twitter @WaldersladeGS, so you don’t miss anything. We are very proud of our school and students and hope this shines through in everything you read and watch.
We would love to have the opportunity to speak to you, so please e-mail us on WGSnewintake@sflt.org.uk or call the main office and ask to be placed on our mailing list. We are more than happy to have an informal chat about WGS and why we believe we are the positive choice for girls in Medway. We will also keep you updated with any opportunities to engage with our staff and students over the next few important weeks and across the academic year.
Although, we may face some significant challenges and surprises this year, we are excited and believe we can guide your daughter to her full potential and help plan for a successful and bright future.
