Skills for Life
At Chantry Community Academy, we want to work in partnership with our parents to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children. We very much have an open door policy and there is regular liaison with a range of staff when appropriate.
All children in the school have a blue contact book for messages between parents and the adults in school to ensure good communication and a strong working partnership.
In addition to this, we have two parents’ evenings annually where parents and children can come in and discuss learning and other matters.
Our Parents’ evenings for the 2019-2020 academic year are as follows:
Tuesday 19th November 3.30pm – 6.30pm
Wednesday 20th November 3.30pm – 5.00pm
Monday 9th March 3.30pm – 6.30pm
Wednesday 11th March 3.30pm – 5.00pm
Our meetings are organised in time slots of ten minutes chosen by the parent. If during the consultation, more time is required, then parents are kindly asked to make a follow up appointment. During our parents’ evenings, many staff are available to meet with parents in addition to class teachers such as the SENCO, health and welfare lead, Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teacher.
We also hold regular parents’ sessions throughout the year about the curriculum or significant events such as the Kent Test and Secondary Transfer Procedures.
